Frequently Asked Questions
-
1.Will steel framing rust?
We do a 12,000 hrs of salt spraying test and has proved to withstand rusting. We use galvalume AZ which uses superior corrosion resistance compared to regular galvanized steel. The coating process involves repeatedly hot-dipping the steel base in the aluminum-zinc alloy, resulting in a coating that is typically 55% aluminum and 95% zinc. It also yields high strength of 300- 550 Mpa conforming to AISI specifications and IBC 2009 for cold formed steel framing and construction.
-
2.Is a steel framed house safe from lightning?
Yes. occupants worry about steel-framed houses becoming lightning strike locations, but steel is a safe conductor of electricity and all frames are grounded according to building codes, absorbing the electric charge back into the ground.
-
3.Can a steel framed building be remodelled?
Yes. Steel-framed buildings are easier to renovate and repair due to interchangeable steel components, and can be easily modified throughout their service life, with non-load bearing walls being easily relocated or removed.
-
4.Will the steel structure cause electric shocks in case of a short circuit?
Provision of electrical wiring is incorporated at the time of design itself so the chances of short circuit are minimal. In case of a short circuit proper insulations are provided for the electrical systems which will protect from mishaps.
-
5.Can we change the places of the wall after construction?
Only non-load bearing walls can be changed with the approval of the engineer.
-
6.Will water leakage be an issue in steel construction?
No, Water seepage and leakage can occur for various reasons, including inadequate drainage. Adding proper sealing to your building can prevent further water-related issues.
